Mercy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a variety of stationery for her shop.

Mercy's story

Mercy is a 37-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and four children in the Isoka district of Zambia. She received a prior Kiva loan and repaid it. She is now requesting another loan to expand her business.

Mercy owns a stationery shop. With her first Kiva loan, Mercy expand her business and re-invested the profits. She used the profits she earned to support her family's basic needs. Mercy is requesting a second loan to expand her business even more. She plans to use the profits she earns to support her family and help other vulnerable people in her community.

Mercy will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Association Learner Guide, following up on students who are at risk of dropping out of school to find out why they are missing school and to link them with the help they need to stay in school.
