Charity's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her poultry business by ordering more chickens.

Charity's story

Charity is a 38-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her mother and two children in the Isoka district of Zambia. She received a Kiva loan before and repaid it in full. She is now requesting another loan to expand her business.

Charity sells broiler chickens, which are poultry bred for meat production. With her first Kiva loan, Charity increased the size and range of her stock to meet the demands of her customers. She used the profit she earned to support her family. Charity is requesting a second loan to expand her business by ordering more chickens. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family and her children in school.

Charity will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Association Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
