but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as certified seeds and fertilizers, that will improve her harvest production and generate more income for her family.

Emily's story

At different points in her life, Emily, 52, has experienced failures. However, this has not been a barrier to her dreams of wanting to be successful. Emily has a wide experience in crop and dairy farming. She has mastered farming activities, such as growing and harvesting, and earns income from selling her crops. She believes that through Kiva lenders, her dream of improving her production will be made a reality.

Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of agricultural success. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers. Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in input availability.

Emily is requesting a loan to buy farm inputs, such as certified seed and fertilizers, to improve her crop production and eventually improve her living condition. This intervention will help her meet the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt. It will improve her family's quality of life and pay for her children's education. She hopes to improve the conditions of her household.

This hardworking mother would certainly appreciate your support.
