Jesca's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy another quality dairy cow to satisfy customer demand for milk.

Jesca's story

Jesca (24), pictured above, is a woman with an unending desire to achieve. She is a resourceful woman who works hard to raise her children despite the tough living conditions in her neighborhood. She is a role model, a mentor, and an inspiration to many farmers in her village because of her resilience and passion for supporting her children as a caregiver.

Jesca enjoyed the support of her parents when she was starting up, but now she works independently and makes her own decisions. She says that she was able to make a profit from her milk and crops in the previous season, and she has even better hopes for this season.

Jesca is seeking a loan to buy a good breed of dairy cow so she can increase her milk production. She intends to feed the cow with fodder crops from her farm, to buy another cow in the future to breed, and to create a big herd. This is a wise idea, since demand for cow milk and meat is rising in the Kenyenya region where she lives.

Lending to this smallholder farmer provides an opportunity to expand her farming and inspire more women of her age. Her children will benefit from this loan since the profits will be used to pay their school fees, so they can have uninterrupted learning for a brighter future.
