Milagros Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to refinance her debt and to buy fresh vegetables to sell.

Milagros Group's story

This loan group is called “Milagros” and it is made up of members who are friends and neighbours in the city of Luque. They are looking for the means to improve their and their loved ones’ quality of life. These borrowers are on their 23rd loan cycle as part of the women’s committee programme.

Carmen is one of the group members. She makes a living selling fruits and vegetables from early in the morning every day. Carmen is a self-sacrificing woman who, in spite of difficulties, does not let herself be defeated. She is looking for ways to do better every day.

She mentions that the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has impeded her from working as normal and generating the income to be able to support her family; this has had consequences for her business.

Carmen is applying for this loan in order to refinance her debt and, at the same time, to buy fresh vegetables to sell and move forward with her business.

Note: Even though this is a group loan, only one person appears in the photo. It was not possible to take a group photo as people cannot meet in groups owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
