San Roque Group

Caacupe, Cordillera, Paraguay / Retail

San Roque Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to refinance debt, buy drinks, baked goods, vegetables, fruits and other products.

San Roque Group's story

The Group called San Roque was formed by two neighbours in the Caacupé area, seeking a way to improve their quality of life and that of their families. They are in their 27th loan cycle with the women’s communal bank.

Amelia is the President of the communal bank, she has a shop in her home and remarks that with a great deal of effort she has succeeded in providing for her loved ones. She comments that as a result of the mandatory quarantine caused by the Covid-19 pandemic her sales have slowly declined however she is still able to sustain her business.
She is applying for this loan to refinance her debt and in addition inject capital into her business. She wants to buy drinks, baked goods, vegetables, fruits and other products in order to be able to continue working and set up a business to help her family.
Note: Only one person appears in the photo, however this is a Group loan. The Covid-19 pandemic prevents people gathering together and so it was not possible to take a Group photo.
