Perlas Preciosas De Dios Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a professional dryer, as well as creams and shampoo.

Perlas Preciosas De Dios Group's story

Juana is an enterprising woman who is 45 years old and has successfully managed the business of selling personal use products and a renowned beauty salon. She has a secretary's degree, and in addition to this, she has had a beauty diploma for 15 years.

Juana is a married woman and mother of two children (18 and 22), who received secondary education. Since Juana needs to supply her business, she approaches Kiva lenders to apply for a third loan. She will be able to buy a professional dryer, as well as creams and shampoo.

Juana is the president of the Communal Bank of Friendship Bridge "Precious Pearls of God," along with six other women who live in the department/state of Quetzaltenango. They have small businesses such as: corn tortilla shops, food, dairy, sausages, slushies and beauty salons.

Typically, women meet monthly with a facilitator who shares helpful information on one aspect of four topics: health, family, women, and business. Due to the current restrictions due to coronavirus, the facilitator contacts each woman by cellphone and emphasizes the importance of hygiene, hand washing, the use of masks and social distancing. Every two months, a nurse via cellphone verifies that the health of the women is well. This effective combination of loans, education and health care is called "Microcredit Plus."

Thank you, Kiva lenders, for your generosity during these difficult times.
