A loan helped to invest in a bulk purchase of alpaca wool yarn.

Wilber's story

Wilber is an artisan from Peru who specializes in alpaca apparel and accessories. He would like to invest in a bulk purchase of alpaca wool yarn. Wilber has been selling through NOVICA since 2015. This is his story:

"I'm Wilber and I was born in Puno. I'm a very happy, hard-working, punctual and honest person. Since I was young, my mother would knit sweaters to sell. One day, a friend offered me a job in a workshop where they knit sweaters and that's where my interest and passion awoke to develop and knit sweaters. I enjoy being able to innovate our designs, knitting and use of materials. I don't find it difficult – one just needs creativity and a lot of patience. I work with my wife and we both spend almost 14 hours a day in the workshop and have weekly meetings to organize the work. It's a challenging job, but very satisfying."

"This year the whole world was surprised by something that paralyzed our days unexpectedly. We have been forced to close our businesses to preserve life and health. To resume my work as an artisan, I appeal to each one of you to support me with a loan so I will be able to acquire material for my work. I will be eternally grateful to each of you."
