Total loan: $300

Kaduna, KD, Nigeria / Agriculture

Tijjani's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase improved farm inputs that will increase farm yield.

Tijjani's story

Tijjani lives in a simple mud house in a small village in the state of Kaduna. He is married with two children and grows maize to support his family. Due to lack of access to quality inputs, it has become difficult for farmers like Tijjani to achieve high yields and thus earn a higher income.

As a Babban Gona member, this loan will enable Tijjani to buy fertilizers and seeds in order to get a good harvest and grow his business. He will also have the recommended pesticides and fertilizers based on the results of a field assessment. These inputs will enable Tijjani to optimize his yield, thereby attaining yields of up to 2 times the national average in Nigeria.

At the end of season, Tijjani plans to use the profits he earns from his harvest to purchase additional farmland. With lenders' support to grow his farming business, he looks forward to many more abundant harvests.
