A loan helped to purchase more e-cash and recharge cards to increase her profit margin.

Jane K.'s story

Jane is a 31-year-old woman who lives with her mother and siblings in the Bole district of Ghana. She is an e-cash vendor and retails recharge cards. With her previous Kiva loans, Jane was able to launch her business and reinvested the profits back into the business.

Jane is requesting another loan to purchase more e-cash and recharge cards to increase her profit margin. She plans to use the profits to support her family’s basic needs. Janet will repay her loan with ‘social interest’ by volunteering two and a half hours per week as a CAMFED Association Peer Educator, leading life skills sessions for students in schools. She will cover topics such as rights and choices, choosing your career path, and active citizenship. Jane’s dream is to continue her education and open more branches of her business.
