A loan helped her to buy farm inputs to boost her production.

Sharon's story

Most of the Kenyan population in rural areas directly depend on small-scale farming for their livelihoods. Meet Sharon, a humble single mother of two children, who has defied the common thinking of most Kenyans about agriculture. Besides her two children, she also supports her mother through her farm where she plants various crops such as maize and other cash crops. The farm is in Meru County where she practices agriculture with a difference, employing youthful energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge attained from years of experience.

Sharon hopes to grow her business to unimaginable levels and one of her major concerns at the moment is that she needs more space for farming. She is seeking a loan that will enable her to buy farm inputs that will boost her production and hopefully she will be able to buy a larger parcel of land in the near future with dedication. She plans on using her profits to repay her loan. Sharon is very determined to succeed. She is very disciplined with finances and hopes that with accumulated profits, she will be able to provide a secure future for herself and continue educating her children.
