Kuña Mbarete Group

Curuguaty, Canindeyú Department, Paraguay / Food

Kuña Mbarete Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy starch, cheese, eggs, and other products.

Kuña Mbarete Group's story

The group called Kuña Mbarete was formed in the Curuguaty area. It is a somewhat dangerous area, that is, a sensitive area due to the social conflict it has been going through. The members say that they strive to offer better living conditions to their families.

One of these is Gloria, who makes a living selling "chipas" [small cheese rolls], which is a traditional Paraguayan food that is eaten throughout the year. She herself makes her chipas, and she comments that she now has many loyal customers who always buy from her.

She is requesting this loan to buy supplies to make her chipas, like starch, cheese, eggs, and other products so that she can continue with her work as she has been doing.

Note: Only one person appears in the photo, but this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo because of restrictions on gatherings of people due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
