Las Mujeres Optimistas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy materials such as cloth and thread, to repair her sewing machine, and to buy ingredients to make ice creams and fried plantain chips.

Las Mujeres Optimistas Group's story

Maxima is the woman wearing black plans and a beige tank top. She is a resident of the El Jicaro community in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. For more than four years Maxima has been a member of the "Mujeres Optimistas” [Optimistic Women] communal bank, which receives loans from the "Pro Mujer" organization.

Maxima, who is a seamstress, has had a difficult life raising her eight school-aged children on her own. A loan is the boost she needs to prosper. She plans on buying materials such as cloth and thread, as well as repairing her sewing machine and buying ingredients to make ice creams and fried plantain chips, which she sells on a baseball field in her community.

Please support these brave, determined rural women with a loan.
