Victor's story

Victor is an energetic, 65-year-old farmer from the village of Alunis, in the Riscani region of Moldova. He is married and has a happy family who love rural life. Together with his 61-year-old wife, he enjoys two children and three beautiful grandchildren. Before retiring, he worked as an administrator at the cow farm in the village, where he learned a lot about animal husbandry. Now, he has a cow and three pigs. He has been farming for five years. He sells dairy and meat to the villagers and in the local markets. The sales represent a very good support to the family budget and a supplement to the small pension that Victor has. In addition, his small farm is a source of food for his family with natural, organic products.

In order to support his children and grandchildren financially, he decided to buy four more pigs for breeding and then put them up for sale. However, not having enough financial sources, Victor decided to apply for a loan from Kiva. As a result, he will be able to increase the capacity of his farm. Victor relies on input and support to ensure a more stable financial situation.
