Sokhen's story

Sokhen is a 38-year-old married woman. She lives in a small village of the Mongkol Borei district, Banteay Meanchey province. She earns a living by selling fruits and vegetables in her community.

From the current business, she is able to make approximately $6.00 per day. Sokhen has two children, one of whom assists her to enhance the family economics by providing motorcycle fixing services.

To help her continue her current business, Sokhen has applied for a loan of USD 2,500 to purchase fruits and vegetables to sell. With this loan support, she will have enough money to purchase more variety of fruits and vegetable from the farmers and sell these in the local market to fulfill her customers's needs. She hopes that this investment may result in the increase of her income, so that she can satisfy her basic living needs.
