Maalalahanin Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy at least three varieties of fish and other seafood items to sell to her customers while in quarantine.

Maalalahanin Group's story

Ma. Eva and the rest of her group live in a coastal community. Their families mostly rely on fishing and selling fish products. For her part, Ma. Eva sells fish which she buys from fisherfolks in their village.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country, most businesses were shut down by the government as the community quarantine was enforced. Ma. Eva and the rest of her group members were affected. It took about three weeks before the restriction to fishing has been lifted in their area. Now back in business, Ma. Eva is thankful that the demand for fish has also been very good. She is requesting a loan to buy at least three varieties of fish and other seafood items to sell to her customers while in quarantine. Ma. Eva will share the loan with the rest of her group members who like her also want to increase the volume of their products on sale and secure their incomes during the pandemic.

Note: This is a group loan. However, only Ma. Eva was photographed as social gatherings are not allowed by the government.
