Maria Celeste's story

The sale of nacatamales [Nicaraguan-style tamales] has been the source of income for the young Maria for three consecutive years. She is the mother of a little infant who has given her the strength necessary to get ahead. In her important economic activity, she has the unconditional support of her family. She is a very talented businesswoman with many goals in life, for which she will not rest until she has been able to see them made reality.

Maria has been a participant in financing from Kiva, together with MiCrédito, with which she bought tomatoes, rice, potatoes, onions, and pork. At this time, she feels very happy about having been able to fill some orders, so much so that she has once again turned to loans from MiCrédito, along with Kiva, to buy pork, banana leaves, tomatoes, and rice.

In the near-term future, this veteran merchant is thinking of converting her successful business into an eatery.
