A loan helped to buy cattle to increase income from cattle breeding.

Suyumkan's story

Suyumkan is 39 years old. She is married and together with her husband and three children lives in the village of Tuura-Suu. The region where she lives has suitable conditions for farming. Both Suyumkan and her husband are teachers at the local school. Suyumkan teaches English.

Besides her work at school, Suyumkan has been engaged in animal husbandry for 13 years. At the moment, her family owns four cows, 17 sheep and five horses. They also have 1.25 hectares of land where she plants wheat.

With the goal of further developing her farming business, Suyumkan turned to Bai Tushum bank for a loan of 200,000 som (KGS) to buy cattle in order to increase her cattle headcount. The proceeds from the loan will help Suyumkan expand her farm.
