A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa-making business and supplies for her family.

Sala's story

Sala is a 28-year-old mother of three, and the wife of a farmer. They live in an old wood house with her husband's parents. Not only is she responsible for her children, but she and her husband are also responsible for taking care of his elderly parents.

Sala runs a business making tapas [patterned cloth made from mulberry bark]. She joins a group of women in their village once a week and they make tapas together. Sala decorates her tapas with traditional designs before selling them. The price depends on the size and type.

She is hoping to use her loan money to buy mulberry for her business and supplies for her family during this hard time.
