A loan helped to reopen my salon, pay rent and order inventory.
I was born and raised in Baltimore City. My childhood was very unique. I was my mothers' primary caregiver. My mother was ill with Multiple sclerosis and died from complications due to breast cancer , at the tender age of 49. After my mother's death I struggled to find my purpose. My father owned his own business during my childhood. Seeing my dad own a successful business ,inspired me to open my own business. I started off in the hair care industry 23 years ago. I found my passion in serving others and healing while grieving my mother;s death. Working in several salons motivated me to open my own salon. While attending Coppin Sate University, majoring in Business; the information gained helped to propel my business. I am motivated by my passion to empower African American women to feel comfortable, while wearing their natural hair. I truly believe woman entrepreneurship helps to ensure a woman to never become a static. I am grateful that my salon is able to provide to employment to other woman.
