Nancy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production, enabling more profits to support her family.

Nancy's story

Nancy is a 28-year-old mother of two children living in Kapsowar, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007–2008 crisis when violence occurred in Kenya. She is a mixed farmer who has been farming for the past seven years, enabling her to support her family. Nancy is using this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production, enabling more profits to support her family.

Juhudi Kilimo’s partnership with Kiva is an effective tool for reducing poverty in Kenya and especially among women, being the central actors in the rural areas. To others, this might be just a loan like any other but to Nancy, it’s an opportunity for her to turn her life around.
