La Paix Virunga Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on cassava leaves and bunches of bananas to strengthen her initial capital.

La Paix Virunga Group's story

Aldegonde is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and leader of the "La Paix Virgunga" banque villageoise. She is married, forty-six years old and the mother of five children who all attend school. Her partner is a driver.
She sells fruits and vegetables. She started this business in 2006 with start-up funds she received from Hekima's program to support her business as it gradually developed. With this new loan, she plans to stock up on cassava leaves and bunches of bananas to strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her business is related to the bad condition of the roads in agricultural deserts.

She would like her children to be able to continue to study and to be able to feed her family. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to business owners who lack access to traditional banking facilities during the Covid-19 global crisis. Only the group leader is shown in the photo due to Covid-19 social distancing.
