A loan helped to buy farm inputs to improve her productivity.

Violet's story

Violet is a 39-year-old inspiring mother of two children. She is from Kitui, Kenya, where she lives with her children. She started raising cows and farming crops a few years ago, aiming to provide for the basic needs of her family. She has done tremendous work in agribusiness with her passion and enthusiasm.

In Kenya, agriculture is one of the most competitive businesses, especially due to high costs of operations necessary to improve farming. Such costs include land acquisition and inputs. To meet the high costs of inputs, farmers have been forced to borrow from financial institutions, which sometimes impose very complicated procedures in loan distribution.

Violet is seeking a loan to purchase quality farm inputs. She will buy important inputs, such as high quality seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers. She is optimistic that this year's harvest will be better than the last season.

Her income from a dairy business will be used to make initial loan repayments until the crops are harvested and sold.
