San Francisco De Asis Elzapote Ii Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy manure, fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide and pay the rent on the land.

San Francisco De Asis Elzapote Ii Group's story

Delman is 33 years old, married and has four children who are all dependent on him. He has earned his living growing basic grains for eight years. He only studied through to 6th grade of primary school. He started to work in agriculture at the age of 25 as he saw that everyone in the area he lives in makes their living growing basic grains. He is a bricklayer and used his earnings to buy inputs and rent a manzana (a local land measure) of land and pay for labor. He does the other work like cleaning, planting and adding manure.

He is requesting a loan from Fundenuse with funds from Kiva to rent the land and buy inputs. It is close to the start of winter and he will plant a manzana of corn and another of beans. He belongs to the “San Antonio de Asís el Zapote II” communal bank with four other members Domingo, Francisco, Rudys and Nelson. In the future he would like to grow coffee to diversify his income. But this depends on the winters being good and having funds left over to buy a plot of land. He would also like to whitewash his house if and when his harvests are good.
