A loan helped us to grow our action-oriented innovation+sustainability virtual community.
Growing up in St. Louis, my parents raised me to value action-oriented problem solving (my father is a construction worker) and human connection (my mother is a nurse). It was no surprise to them that, after graduating college from Truman State University in 2009, I started volunteering and eventually worked for a non-profit called Startup Weekend, which unites people in communities around the world and empowers them to launch new projects, non-profits and startup companies that solve problems important to them. After starting three other organizations also focused on entrepreneurship education and economic development, I found myself living in Tucson, AZ - the third fastest warming city in the US. As I learned more and more about the climate crisis, it became important to me to be a part of the change that's needed to ensure a quality future for my daughter and for the communities in which we all live. For the World brings my 10+ years of experience starting and scaling organizations that educate and inspire aspiring entrepreneurs through experiential events together with my personal beliefs in the power of innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and community.
