Gilda's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in a bulk purchase of silver and jade and polishing supplies, and also hire additional artisans for the workshop.

Gilda's story

Gilda, who works alongside her husband, Ruben (shown on left), specializes in handcrafted jade jewelry and Mayan masks. She would like to invest in a bulk purchase of silver and jade and polishing supplies, and also hire additional artisans for the workshop.

Gilda has been selling through NOVICA since 2012. This is her story:

"Our story begins in a town near Antigua. Gilda grew up in a home of woodcarvers and I grew up in a family of silversmiths," Ruben explains. "We began our first steps as artisans while still going to school. We met when we were 16 years old, both very young and very much in love," Gilda says with a smile. "We are artisans who work with our hearts, with dedication and love."

"We are grateful to the people who give us the microcredit. Thank you very much, and we promise to work the best we can and with the greatest speed in the elaboration of the pieces for our clients. This situation has been very difficult, and we do not want to leave our assistants without work and our families without sustenance. God bless you."
