Uvumilivu Group

Bukavu, Sud Kivu Provice, South-Kivu, Congo (DRC) / Food

Uvumilivu Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy supplies of sugar, milk, rice, oil, bread, etc., and boost her financial capital.

Uvumilivu Group's story

Justine is a client at IMF Hekima and is head of the "Uvumilivu" banc villageois. She is 51 years old and is married with 11 children who have all gone to school. Her husband is a tradesman.

Justine sells food items, having begun this business in her youth aged 27, with starting capital from her parents. She later got involved with the Hekima programme to support her business, which has evolved over time. With this new loan she is going to buy sugar, milk, rice, oil, bread, etc., which will boost her financial capital. In the present situation with Covid-19, selling food is not impacted because everybody still goes to buy essentials.

She would like to develop her business into a large food store. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and their partners for the support they give to business owners unable to secure bank loans in the global Covid-19 crisis. Only the head of the group is pictured in the photo due to Covid-19.
