Asad's story

It all started at age 7 while using a chair to reach the kitchen counter top and help my mother knead flour into dough as she prepared biscuits from scratch. I watched her take common nutritional ingredients and turn them into pastries, cakes and pies. And the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester, on Genesee Street, has been a major part of my success. I became a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester when I was 13 years-old. The training I received in the Cub’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy inspired me to start my own baking business. I was able to legalize my business through the program. In the Democrat and Chronicle story “Entrepreneur bakes his way to success”, Dwayne Mahoney, executive director of Boys and Girls Club of Rochester said, “Asad was driven to succeed. Everyone from the program wasn’t able to launch his or her business. Asad was determined to make it happen, he just needed some help to get over some hurdles, like a place to cook.” The goal is not just to sell pies, cakes, cookies that wholesomely healthy and delicious but also to show young people that whatever they decide to do, it can be done with a mindset to give back to their community,” I said. “I’m here speaking today because of what my community has given to me. I want my business to be a message of giving, and cause.” Your healthy, wholesome and delicious gluten-free bakery dedicated to supreme pastries that are both protein-packed and a great source of fiber, I offer a growing vegan selection of products as well.
