Claire's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped withpaying bills and maintaining my salon during the economic shutdown.

Claire's story

I am a native Californian and one of four children. For over three decades I have maintained that I am my parent’s favorite, but none of my siblings have ever accepted this assumption. I am truly thankful for my family, who have always supported me…and kept me honest. From them I have learned to be kind and to forgive, not only myself, but others as well. I have been working as a stylist for 12 years. My decision to dedicate myself to making my clients look and feel great comes from a lifelong love of fashion, which I share with my mom and sister. We share a keen eye for great vintage dresses and a nice hairdo. While some might consider hair and fashion superficial pursuit, anyone who has experienced a great stylized head of hair can attest to how much it can lift your Spirits. I love putting a smile on a person’s face. I opened my salon after ending a 10-year-long toxic relationship. Instead of letting the darkness consume me, I reclaimed my autonomy and kept moving forward. No doubt that my wonderful support group has kept me and continues to keep me focused and positive, while providing guidance and an ear. The Coronavirus will pass and come hell or high water, I am determined to persevere.
