Pier South Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy rice, fish, beef, vegetables, and condiments to prepare at least three to four items per day to sell during the Ramadan and the quarantine period.

Pier South Group's story

The Pier South group is thankful for a prior loan extended to their group. One member was able to buy more scrap wood and sell it to customers who either made furniture or used it for cooking. The rest of the group also used their share of the loan for their respective businesses.

The group was scheduled to take out another loan in March but the onset of the Covid-19 has closed a lot of businesses especially with the government's implementation of an enhanced community quarantine. Some members of the group decided not to take out a loan immediately. On the other hand Saramia, a group member, is determined to continue earning. She has sold food for years now and is thankful that the government allows her business to operate. She is requesting a loan to buy sacks of rice, fish, beef, vegetables, and condiments to prepare at least three to four items per day to sell during the Ramadan and the remainder of the quarantine. The loan amount is shared with other members of the group who like Saramia are still able to operate businesses.

Note: This is a group loan but only one borrower (Saramia) is in the photo because the government prohibits all types of social gatherings.
