A loan helped to buy organic inputs and fertilizers to look after her 2.1 hectares of coffee.

Marlene's story

Marlene mentions that she inherited her passion for working in the field from her parents. They taught her how to work the land. Her farm of 7 hectares, of which 2.1 are allocated to planting and harvesting coffee under the FLO seal.

She lives in a remote community of Jinotega, in the north central area of Nicaragua where she lives with her husband and 3 children. She has grown coffee here for more than 7 years.

She had low productivity in the previous season, but she is sure that she can improve her production with proper management of her plantation. For this reason, she is requesting a loan to buy farming inputs such as: copper, zinc and calcium among other products to look after her coffee trees.

Her biggest dream is for her son to have better opportunities in education and economic growth. Day by day she works hard to build his future.

This is the second loan approved by PAC.
