A loan helped me to maintain my employee and business resources, for strong future growth.
I grew up in the Phoenix valley in a single parent home. My mother was hard-working and conscientious, but we were never more than a single step from poverty. The 2008 economic downturn hit Arizona hard, and we were evicted from our home. Watching my mother struggle to provide for my brothers and me motivated me to seek a different life, with more professional control and potential for growth. I was in college when I realized that I wanted to be a photographer. I pursued by business degree at ASU so that I would have a grounding in business planning and marketing, and I learned about the specific industry while working for a successful local photographer for 3 years. I started my own photography business and began developing a client base while still in college. Divorcing at 25 was unexpectedly freeing, and allowed me to pour energy into my business. Six months later, I was able to take my business full time, an accomplishment that many professional photographers never aspire to. A year after, at the end of 2019, I hired a full time employee and added another revenue stream by purchasing a photo booth business. Now I manage my employee plus a team of 5 contractors from my home in Tempe, Arizona, and I shoot all over the state. I am passionate about my business and the joy it can bring to my clients. I want to show up for clients on their important days and provide amazing levels of support. I love the artistry of my work, but beyond that, I want to elevate what a client can expect.
