San Alfredo Group's story

The committee named “San Alfredo” is a group that is starting its first loan cycle with 16 members. All of them are very satisfied to be working with Fundación Paraguaya because they will be able to achieve a better quality of life for their loved ones. They are a unified group from the area of Santaní. All of them are friends and neighbors from this area.

Among the members who should be mentioned is Hermelinda, who prepares and sells “chipas” (cheese bread), which is a traditional Paraguayan food. Hermelinda says that she begins her work early in the day, which is when she wakes up to prepare cheese bread to sell. She is an enterprising person who started out modestly and dreamed of improving so that she could continue helping her family.

Hermelinda is requesting a loan to invest in supplies for making cheese bread such as cassava flour, cheese, eggs, shortening, and other ingredients. This will help her continue her sales as before.

Note: There is only one person in the photo even though this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo in order to avoid people from gathering during the COVID-19 pandemic.
