Adi Tewa's story

Adi Tewa, or Adi as she’s normally referred to by the villagers of Wainimakutu, is the self-proclaimed number one baker in her family and village. One must only try one of her famous steaming scones & traditional buns/breads, and it's hard to argue with her claim.

At the ripe old age of 65 she doesn’t look like she’s quitting anytime soon. But at this point she wants to do more due to the increasing demands from families and friends alike. But in order to do that she needs the necessary financial backing to push her business through.

Adi Tewa is requesting a loan of $4,000 FJD which would ensure that she buys a state-of-the-art oven, baking ingredients and trays, plus oven mitts. All this is part of her plan to ensure that she sets up a bakery within her village, much to their delight, and it also ensures that money spent within the village doesn’t go out. So it becomes a win-win situation for everyone.
