A loan helped to buy pandanus for her business and also provide for her family during the lock-down.

Lesila's story

This is Lesila. She is 29, and she has four children. Her husband works as a carpenter. Lesila runs a weaving business, where she weaves mats and ta'ovala, mainly using only white pandanus. She started her business only weaving ta'ovala, but her mother encouraged her to also weave mats, for they are a very high prize.

She and her mother, together with her sister, weave at Lesila's house. She sells her products through social media and she even has buyers from overseas. Lesila is a hard-working mother, who runs her business very well, earns money for her family and also pays her loan perfectly.

Lately because of the lock-down, her business is running very slowly. Lesila has applied for her loan in order to buy pandanus for her business and also provide for her family during the lock-down, for her husband's work is also closed down due to the lock-down.
