Rakeli's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs (fertilizers and seeds) to boost her yield and improve her sales so that she can have enough money to improve her life.

Rakeli's story

The economic consequences of the covid-19 pandemic have been felt in Kenya, and Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva are working hard to support farmers like Rakeli, a 76-year old mother of six children.

Rakeli (pictured inside her house) lives in Nyahururu, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential, with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. Rakeli’s life experiences clearly show three qualities about her: she is honest, she perseveres, and she is zealous.

Rakeli has acquired this loan to buy farm inputs (fertilizers and seeds) to boost her yield and improve her sales so that she can earn enough money and improve her life.

One objective that Juhudi Kilimo aims to fulfill is to increase farmers' ease of access to farm inputs and income-generating assets. Through the intervention of Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, farm inputs have become more accessible to its members. Kindly lend to her!
