Petrolina is 42 and a mother who is in a common law equivalent relationship. She and her husband have five children between the ages of 2 and 21. They live in the community of San Carlos, Nahualate.

In order to earn her own income and contribute to the household expenses, she has earned her living by buying and selling chickens for the last 6 years. She sells her chickens on one of the main streets in her community. Her ambition is to continue growing her business and increase sales.

Petrolina is applying for a loan to buy more chickens in order to meet customer demand. She hopes to improve her family's quality of life.
