Charles's story

Charles P. K. G. from Thika is thirty-seven years old. He sells assorted items like umbrellas, socks, handkerchiefs, bangles, necklaces and others to local women. He has been in this business for the last year and he says that the business is good and gives him enough income to take care of his expenses. At times, he says, the business performance goes down but he works very hard from early morning to late evening to ensure that his business is doing well. He is taking a loan of 20,000 KES to restock his business so as to keep his customers well supplied with the items they would want to buy from him. He plans to buy land, get a wife and work harder to get more finances to take care of his family. He is hardworking and hopes to become a wholesaler.
