Ruth's story

Mothers like Ruth (a 42-year-old mom of 2) need to be celebrated with a loan. She hails from Eldoret.

Life in Eldoret, Kenya, is a struggle for everyone, but for a peasant farmer like Ruth, it’s even harder. Ruth is a professional farmer and has been in the farming business for many years, during which time she has been successful. She grows and sells crops.

Ruth has been able to purchase a cow as well as to construct various structures on her farm. These commercial activities place her in a better position to engage in other agricultural businesses, which she does.

Ruth dreams that through farming she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that all of her children successfully complete their studies. She is a visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps on progressing.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, has extended its services to the remote areas in the Nyamira region of Kenya, and its staff is keen to ensure that hardworking women like Ruth benefit from loans that should enable them to purchase farming inputs.

Ruth is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs.

Through this intervention, she will be able to improve the quality of her farm products.
