A loan helped to purchase a variety of apparel to meet customer demand.

Gifty Kayla's story

Gifty is a 20-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents in the Agona East district of Ghana. Gifty sells apparel and cosmetics.

With her first Kiva loan, Gifty was able to launch her business. She used the profit she earned to reinvest in the business.

Gifty is requesting a second loan to purchase a variety of apparel to meet customer demand. She will also purchase cosmetics in larger quantities to increase her profit margin. She plans to reinvest her profits in her business.

Gifty will repay the "social interest" on her second loan by volunteering two-and-a-half hours per week as a CAMFED Transition Guide, supporting other young women entering the CAMFED Association by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
