Lilian's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds and start horticulture farming to satisfy the ready market for horticulture products and improve her family's living conditions.

Lilian's story

If Lilian’s dream is to become a reality, it will not be through any magic, but through sweat and determination. Lilian is a 45-year-old mom of four children (pictured in her simple house), and her life demands struggle. To her, not everything comes out of sweat. She is a woman who is very sensitive to the real values of life. Her major building blocks are her hard work and perseverance.

Lilian’s hard work is the real key to success. She has always kept her eye on her goals and continues to take steps toward achieving them. Lilian has always stuck to her goals and has an undying belief that she will pull herself out of poverty.

Lilian has requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo of 50,000 KES, which she will use to buy seeds to start horticulture farming. She wants to take advantage of various conditions such as favorable weather patterns, a good road network in her village, good soil, and a ready market for horticulture products to reap more profits. By the end of the first year, she hopes that she will not only be selling in the local market, but also in international markets through the export of fruits and vegetables.

Juhudi is partnering with Kiva and Kiva lenders to help hardworking women like Lilian turn their farming dreams into reality through training and loan financing.
