A loan helped me keep serving coffee!
Born in Modesto, CA to a lower middle class family, I am no stranger to doing without, not knowing where the next meal is coming from, or grit. I started working when I was twelve and always found myself at coffee shops. Seeing education as a way out, I worked hard to get grants, scholarships, and loans for school. After teaching for six years, I decided to stay home when my second child was born. When the opportunity to learn about roasting and purchase Copper Door Coffee came to me, I saw it as a way to end the poverty of my family and grow into a life of abundance. I want my children to see what hard work and passion can build and how that can help so many others. We focus on purchasing coffee from woman farmers around the world and I want to keep growing my business to help women on every level of the supply chain.
