Diappo Ligueye Tamba Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy sheep and to resell them.

Diappo Ligueye Tamba Group's story

Madame Awa is the representative of the Diappo Liguey Tamba (which means "to join to work together" in Wolof, the local language most commonly spoken in Senegal). She is dressed in blue and white and holding the sheep's rope in the photo.

She is literate. She is 43 years old and the mother of two children. One of her children is 10 and attends school while the other is twelve and helps his father in the fields. Her husband is a farmer.

She is turning to the microfinance institution to develop her breeding activity. Its profits will permit her to help her husband to support the family's needs. She has been in the breeding sector for ten years. It has permitted her to, as best she could, contribute to part of the school fees for her daughter and eventually food for her children.

She gets her cattle at the weekly market in the neighboring village and resells in the same market after fattening it. Given the lack of resources, Madame Awa sometimes faces difficulties with supply and also with ensuring proper feeding for the cattle. Sometimes her sheep die because of a lack of vaccination.
