Furaha Group's story

Astride is a client of the Hekima MFI and president of the FURAHA savings group. She is a 50-year-old married mother to nine children, four of whom are in school while the other five have finished. Her spouse is a pastor.

She sells pagnes, an activity launched in 1993 with start-up funds received from her husband. She later joined Hekima to help support her business, which she has developed gradually. She will use this new loan to buy 19 pagnes wholesale to bolster her stock.

Her challenge is the sale of counterfeit pagnes by other vendors, which takes customers away from her.

She wants her children to continue their studies, and to be able to feed her family.

She wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for helping non bankable business owners.

Some clients are seen with their children in the photo.
