Susana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as hybrid seeds and certified fertilizer.

Susana's story

Susana is 51 years old and has 5 children. She is from a deep, remote village in the Kapsowar area of Kenya. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her family a good start.

Susana has a farm where she grows crops. She earns additional income from a personal business. She has never had a formal secondary school education and is content with the farming lifestyle.

The Kapsowar area is a favorable one for farming, so Susana requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo for 100,000 KES, which she will use to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds. This loan will enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her farming business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her village, is very challenging. Susana feels relieved to know that there are institutions like Kiva that help enterprising women like herself. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions.
