Beatrice's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farming inputs, such as fertilizers, to boost her crop quality, earn more profit, and elevate her standard of living.

Beatrice's story

Dear lenders,

Thanks to your determination and commitment in making the world a better place, thousands of smallholder farmers in Kenya have made a difference in their lives. Beatrice (pictured above) is a first time Kiva borrower who is 43 years old and has three children. Beatrice dreams that, through farming, she'll be able to pull out of poverty and see to it that all her family members succeed. She's visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps progressing.

Unlike banks and other local money lenders who operate mainly in urban centres, Juhudi Kilimo (a Kiva field partner) has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities to different people to access loans.

Beatrice is seeking a loan to purchase farming inputs, such as fertilizers, to boost the quality of her crop farm, earn more profits, and elevate her standard of living. She plans to use the profits to repay the loan and improve her living conditions. Click that lend button and be a source of hope this month of celebrating women.
