Julia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as seeds and fertilizers, to help a repeat Kiva borrower, who repays her loans on time, to improve her harvest production.

Julia's story

Julia (42 years old mom of 3), a repeat Kiva borrower, is a rural smallholder farmer from the Nyahururu area of Kenya. She is married to a fellow farmer.

Her family's main income source is milk from their dairy farm. However, they are also involved in other agricultural activities such as growing crops.

The biggest problem that farmers from Nyahururu face is the huge deficit in access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be.

Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Nyahururu like Julia can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Julia is seeking a loan to buy additional farm inputs such as seeds. This loan will enable Julia to improve her production through the use of quality seeds.

This intervention will help her meet the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan and improve her family's quality of life. Julia also hopes to improve the condition of her house.

Help this mother accomplish all her dreams with just a loan!
