Monicah's story

Support Monicah, a 27-year-old mom of 6, as the world celebrates women. As the rate of unemployment in Kenya continues to increase, hardworking women such as her have already established a stable source of income from farming.

Monicah is a smallholder farmer who resides in a small village in Eldoret. There, she practices agriculture as the only means to sustain her small family. Through dairy and crop farming, Monicah's farm has become her sole source of livelihood. She is a dedicated farmer who has a "never-give-up" attitude. She enjoys every bit of farming because through farming, she is able to take care of her family’s needs and wants. Although she experiences challenges, her positive attitude keeps her going.

Currently, Monicah is seeking a loan of 140,000 KES to buy certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers to expand her horticulture crop farm. By scaling up her business, Monicah will reduce production costs and increase output. Her strategy is to use the returns from the investment to pay for more farm supplies. Lack of supplies is a major problem that leads many farms to close down due to poor yield and quality.

Through this loan, Monicah will attain food security in her home and improve her living conditions. Lend today to keep her moving forward and to help keep her contagious smile!
