Alima's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereal grains (beans and maize) to sell in her village market and use the profits to support her family.

Alima's story

A 63-year-old mother to five children, Alima is a determined smallholder farmer. Determination is the main driving force that keeps her moving forward.

Despite the challenges she faces in life, at home, and in her farming business, Alima has the ability to come up with unique responses to situations. She is very creative and has the insight to recognize and take up useful new approaches to farming. She acknowledges that challenges are there to make her grow stronger each day.

Alima is seeking this loan to buy cereal grains, which she will sell to her customers and earn extra income to support her family. Kenya's Eldoret area, one of the country's populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. This means that Alima could increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there.

Accessing funds has been a challenge for Alima, but since she joined Juhudi, in partnership with Kiva, she feels relieved and happy that her life has transformed. Kindly lend to this determined, humble woman.
