Zippora's story

Farming is one of the most difficult jobs today in Kenya due to the great effort that one must put forth to progress. Zippora is a small-scale farmer who lives in the remote village of Kaplamai in the Kitale area of Kenya. She is happily married and is blessed with two lovely, angelic-looking children.

For the last 10 years, Zippora has been involved in mixed farming and has never looked back. She really likes what she does. Her primary sources of income have been sales of vegetables, eggs, and crops, as well as some personal business on the side to make ends meet.

Zippora finds farming very fulfilling and agrees with the notion that farming is a profitable business venture. However, she constantly faces the challenge of poor productivity on her farm due to a lack of farm inputs.

Zippora is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer to increase her vegetable production levels, which will immediately translate into increased income levels. Zippora is a very hard-working woman who believes that, through honest hard work, her living conditions will permanently change.

Zippora will use the extra income she receives to repay the loan and improve her farming business. Zippora has big dreams for her farming business, and she thinks that her future can improve considerably - thanks to the support of organizations like Juhudi Kilimo that make it possible for people to dream of a better and more stable life.
